My name is Ditto,
For a long while I have been thinking about creating a more permanent place to post my art due to several policy changes to certain other sites. I came to the conclusion that if my art is to remain online, I needed my own site. I began work on this site back in 2023(2024 I think), but unfortunately I have a habit of procrastinating. It has been high time I blow the dust off of this HTML script and get something up on neocities. The sooner I get my stuff uploaded the better.
Incase you do not know, I create SFM and more recently Blender content surrounding Macro/Micro themeing, along with other SFM and Furry related things.
I was born on November 10, 1996, making me a tail end Millenial, or as some people would say: A 90's Baby. Basically I'm a Millenial with the mind of an early 1997 gen-Z, but different, and with Autism (Aspergers/ADHD).
Being born that late into the Millenial generation means I got to experience a lot of things. My parents owned a SNES and a SEGA Genesis, allowing me to experience both Mario and Sonic. Cartoon Network was in its golden years with Dexter's Lab, Powerpuff Girls, Johnny Bravo, Courage, an Ed, Edd, n' Eddy. Disney was still in its renassance, although it was very late as I think the most recent one they came out with was Tarzan.
Around the age of 3, 4, or 5 I experience something incredible, The Computer. I became facinanted by some of the things my dad did on them. He played games like Simcity, and Simtower. He had a program called Winamp that would play music. My grandma and grandpa on both sides of my family had them as well and they showed me this incredible world changing technology. AOL and Compuserve, The Internet.
The Internet was strange and new not only to me but to everyone. Once you logged into AOL a mysterious sound would play of something that sound like a phone dialing, then a car skiding, then some sort of alien buzzing, then running water, and then... silence. SUDDENLY...
WELCOME!!!
YOU GOT MAIL!!!
From that day forward my journey online has been mysterious. Although I never really got to experience a lot of the things that most people would have back then. I never went on to message boards, or watched flash animations. Most of my time was spent on either cartoonnetwork.com or nick.com, RIP, also pbskids.org. I did however venture off into a few other sites back in the day, shockwave.com, and pogo.com, for more popular games on the internet at the time, experiencing Popcap's Bookworm and Insaniquarium. There was a site called Jigzone which would let you put together puzzles. When my uncle was over at my grandma's he would log on and look into Ebay, a site where you could by stuff from online. While I didn't get a chance to engage with it, sometimes I would see peoples computers on a website known as Myspace.
It was a glorious era to be in. Then the 2010s happened. Many of the things from that era I remembered started to disappear. Flash being the biggest one as many of the games I played back in the day used flash. Nick gutted most of their site. Nothing was left that I remember. CartoonNetwork.com, straight up just gone now, redirects to HBO Max. Shockwave and Pogo are still around but they are shadows of their former selves.
But it wasn't all doom and gloom. Eventually I got to know many more sites. And eventually got into content creation myself on YouTube. Although those early videos are privated now, they weren't so good. But eventually I branched out to Fanfiction.net and Deviantart. Although if you look them up they were kinda cheezy... I had a Minecraft x Spyro fanfic that I just threw shit at the wall to see what stuck with it. Never finished it, and so it will remain.
At somepoint I got really into NyanCat and really against MLP. And when I was scrolling Deviantart one day, I found a brony who refered to themselves as a brony AND a word that I never heard call them before unless they were covered in hair, furry. Furry, a word which then I mistakenly took for something else that it really was, basically to my knowledge a Boy being a fan of MLP was called a Brony. So when I heard someone refer to themselves as a Furry I thought they were saying they were a Boy who are a fan of The Care Bears... Because apparently that got a reboot around the same time as MLP. Later I found out what furries really were and I relaxed on the topic, bronies still had to wait though.
Eventually I ended up on Furafinity and embraced being a furry myself. It is there that I started my SFM render making, eventually moving to Inkbunny due to... a very broad policy change regarding pictures of certain FICTIONAL CHARACTERS that AREN'T REAL and are depicted in certain situations. (-_-)
You know they say: "Sticks and stones may break my bones, but words will never hurt me."
Well they also say: "A picture is worth a thousands words."
So if that is the case, why are you letting a picture hurt you? It's stupid. I know that policy was technically supposed to prohibit the REAL Photographic stuff, which is deplorable, disgusting, and it deserves to be wiped off the web. But the fictional stuff? It's a Picture of a Pichu wearing the Fempyro suit looking smug for fuck sake!
Anyway I moved to Inkbunny, which actually has a LOT of that FICTIONAL content I just talked about. Didn't care. Didn't need to change much of what I upload up there too... only thing they had was no humans. Great! For about 1 year... Then I hear something I didn't want to know. See awhile back before I joined Inkbunny they had a problem with people who used... SFM... and... GMOD. Stating that it wasn't REAL ART. Thankfully they went back on it before I joined... but one day I start seeing on peoples profiles/journals saying that Inkbunny is going after SFM stuff again. (-_-)
So now I had to jump ship again... this time for something even stupider... so now I'm like, "Where do I go?" I still had my Furaffinity account but I wasn't going to go posting on there again, and Inkbunny is just a sesspool that doesn't like any program that was made by Valve. I thought if I had my own website I wouldn't need to worry about policy changes, because I would control the policy, since it is my website! I just didn't know how to achieve it.
OH... IF ONLY GEOCITIES DIDN'T FUCKING DIE!
And then I saw it, LoveWeb's video about the web revival movement and Neocities. NEOCITIES?! Whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaat?! You mean to tell me I could have just started up a website this entire time! SHUT UP AND TAKE MY MONEY!
And so I'm here... I designed this place similar to some of the sites I used to see back in the day. Only I intended it to work best in Fullscreen mode if you have a 1440 x 1080 monitor. I've finally had manage to upload all the images from inkbunny I had over to this place. And soon I will have some of my new stuff down the pipeline. I still have a lot more shit to do on this site from making fake ads for that bar on the right that is literally just for decoration, to figuring out how to make a guest book that everyone what everyone to sign apparently.
I think that will be enough for now... I will place a section here about my likes and dislikes at some point but It like 11:40PM as I'm writing this and I got to get to bed. Goodnight.
