Context: Due to how the industry was going in 2016 and 2017 pushing the gaming community to have more competitive/pvp games and pushing e-sport put me in a state of bitterness along with the meet your match update for tf2 making me completely abandon any and all pvp games and gamemodes and with that whole campaign of anti-singleplayer that EA was doing I thought I was making the right choice. I new what fortnite was back in those days, a mid-tier zombie tower defense like game that was struggling to stay a float. I was curious and thought about picking it up an trying it out at some point... Then July of 2017 came and it added the battle royal mode that quickly gained so much popularity that ads for it and memes haven't shut up since and not only that overshadowed the actual game that it was supposed to be until its identity was nothing more than a battle royal... I didn't hate it because it was popular, I hated it because of how the industry was at the time the battle royal mode dropped and literally became a bleak reminder of that dark time of the industry. After 6 and a half years however of keeping a grudge with this game I finally realized I was being a scumbag for never really giving the game a chance to win my respect... today something dropped and it changed my whole perspective of the gaming world... To say it short and if you know what i mean you know... LEGOs are just physically painful to physically step on, but also spiritually painful to metaphorically step on. LEGO Fortnite broke me. I can't keep hating it. It's time to give it a chance. It's time to give up.
